How to Play Solitaire

  • 1The goal is to move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles in the top right — one pile per suit, built from Ace up to King.
  • 2In the tableau (the seven columns), cards must be placed in descending order and alternating colors — a red 9 on a black 10, for example.
  • 3Click the stock pile (top left) to draw one card at a time to the waste pile. You can play the top waste card at any time.
  • 4Only Kings — or sequences starting with a King — can be placed in an empty tableau column.
  • 5Double-click any face-up card to automatically send it to the correct foundation pile if a valid move exists.

About Today's Daily Deal

Every day at midnight, DailyCardFix generates a fresh Solitaire deal shared by players worldwide. Come back tomorrow for a brand new challenge — and try to beat your personal best time.

Klondike Solitaire is the most played card game on the planet. First popularized by gold rush prospectors in the Klondike region of Canada, it became a household name when Microsoft bundled it with Windows 3.0 in 1990 — originally to teach users how to use a mouse. Today, billions of games are played every year.

SolitaireFix uses a seeded daily deal, meaning every player on May 9 plays the exact same deck arrangement. Can you beat it?

Tips & Strategy

Always move Aces and Twos to the foundation immediately. Uncover face-down cards as quickly as possible — hidden cards are your biggest obstacle. Prioritize moves that reveal the most face-down cards over moves that simply stack cards. Empty columns are powerful: use them to maneuver sequences, not just park Kings.

Not every deal is winnable — roughly 80% of Klondike draws are theoretically solvable with perfect play, but in practice expect to win about 1 in 3 games. Don't be discouraged. Come back tomorrow for a fresh start.
